Non-stop dogwear

A premium two-layer bivvy system whose weather-resistant outer and insulated inner can be used together or separately. The maker specifies a windproof shell, 7,460 mm water column, recycled PrimaLoft insulation, reflective details, stake loops, adjustable openings, and S-L sizing. It is the most protective and configurable choice here, but ground insulation is improved by adding the separately sold Protector Bivvy Bed.

Ruffwear

A synthetic-down dog sleeping bag with a water-resistant shell, half-length zipper, neck baffle, compression sack, and an integrated sleeve for the optional Highlands Pad. Medium weighs 1.6 lb and Large 2.2 lb. It offers a strong warmth-to-packability balance for typical backpacking, but Ruffwear does not publish a universal temperature rating and the ground pad costs extra.

Wilderdog

A one-size 36 x 28-inch sleeping bag that unzips three-quarters of the way to become a larger flat mat. It uses a water-resistant ripstop-polyester shell, quick-drying cotton lining, synthetic fill, and an included stuff sack at 29 oz. It is a straightforward, lower-cost camp bed for medium and smaller dogs that burrow, while larger dogs are more likely to sleep on top.

Kurgo

A generously sized roll-up bed with a water-resistant ripstop top, waterproof Rufftex bottom, 140 g polyfill, carry handle, nonslip base, and hidden pocket. Medium opens to 27 x 36 x 2 inches and Large to 36 x 48 x 3 inches. The bulk and weight are better suited to car camping, RVs, cabins, and road travel than to weight-conscious backpacking.

Non-stop dogwear

A lightweight insulated mat with a microfleece top, water-resistant ripstop base, Hypalon-reinforced stake holes, and a roll-up rail-and-buckle system that can attach to a pack. S weighs only 169 g, M 363 g, and L 590 g. It is excellent for breaks, mild camps, and dogs that dislike enclosed bags, but it supplies no windproof top layer.

Ibiyaya

A rigid cat-focused backpack that can be worn on the back or front, with dual-layer scratch-resistant mesh, privacy cover, feeding ports, replaceable scratch pad, side exam door, padded support, chest buckle, MOLLE storage, and a safety tether. It measures 11.81 x 10.63 x 16.54 inches, weighs 3.97 lb, and lists a 19.84 lb maximum. Cat-specific stress and claw-management details are excellent, though visible owner reports make zipper inspection important.

PETSFIT

A hiking-oriented 13.4 x 10.6 x 19.1-inch backpack for cats and small dogs up to 15 lb, with multi-panel mesh, circular top window, sternum and waist support, water-repellent body, waterproof TPU base, reflective strips, whistle buckle, trekking-pole holders, removable pad, and several storage zones. It supplies the best gear organization for the price, but its new/limited review signal makes pre-trip inspection especially important.

Mr. Peanut's

A horizontal-layout backpack designed so a cat or small dog can lie lengthwise instead of sitting in a tall vertical compartment. Medium is 18.9 x 9 x 11.4 inches upright, recommended to about 16 lb; Large is 19.7 x 9.8 x 12.6 inches, recommended to about 24 lb. Four mesh sides, self-locking zippers, thermal padding, chest strap, storage, laptop sleeve, seat-belt points, and leak-resistant materials make it travel-friendly, though the long shape is less agile on steep trails.

PetAmi

A low-cost 12.5 x 10.2 x 16.3-inch backpack with reinforced walls, two side entries, three mesh windows, sherpa-lined solid base, thick shoulder straps, waist and chest straps, 600D polyester, and an 18 lb published limit. It covers the essential comfort and carry features at the lowest price, but the official listing's internal tether language references a collar; users should clarify safe harness-compatible restraint and inspect all seams and zippers before outdoor use.

Ruffwear

A mature all-around design with strategically placed foam, a telescoping neck closure, sheltered buckles, a reinforced lift handle, and reflective accents. It leads on the combination of fit range, documented construction, product media, and a large official review pool rather than any claim of guaranteed safety.

Non-stop dogwear

A technical vest that puts segmented closed-cell foam along the sides and breathable HexiVent material over the back. Its SAFE-R buoyancy construction, SAFE-T wrap fit, rear leash point, and mobility-focused cut make it the strongest performance-oriented option in this group. The black/orange version adds two side leash points; other colorways do not.
