Basil

Three sizes cover published dog limits from 6 to 24 lb, but the connector choice is part of the product system and must be matched to the bicycle before purchase.

Snoozer

This foam-padded rear seat straps to an existing bicycle rack and supports dogs up to 24 lb. It offers more cushioning than hard baskets and a removable washable cover, but the shallow open sides make correct harness attachment and calm-dog suitability especially important.

The Pet-Pilot MAX uses a patented steel quick-release handlebar mount with rubber bushings to reduce sway. Its 600D fabric body, steel frame, two internal leashes, and padded floor are well documented, but the manufacturer does not publish a simple numeric dog-weight maximum, so buyers must rely on seated-body measurements and bicycle compatibility.

Tern

The Doghouse Mini is a complete cargo-bike carrier concept built from the Clubhouse Mini, Soft Crate Mini, and Dog Roof Mini. It carries one dog up to 13.5 kg with two harness tethers and weather-resistant materials, but it is relevant only to listed Tern cargo-bike platforms and the $110 Soft Crate price is not the total system cost.

Ruffwear

Ruffwear combines evaporative cooling and a load-spreading walking harness in one product. Its three-layer body, six adjustment points, three leash attachment choices, padded handle, UPF 50+ coverage, and reflective details are unusually complete for hikers who do not want to layer a separate harness under a wet vest.

Spark Paws

A low-priced wet-wring-wear vest with mesh airflow, SPF 50 coverage claimed by the maker, reflective material, and side-release buckles. Seven sizes, full official availability, a large direct review signal, and a product-specific official video make it a practical value addition, although no harness portal or integrated leash point is documented.

Chillybuddy

Chillybuddy uses an aluminized, air-permeable outer shell to reflect solar radiation and a cotton mesh liner that can be wetted for evaporative cooling. It offers a distinct shade-plus-wet-liner approach and eight detailed sizes, but the current review sample is small and mixed, and the maker's temperature demonstrations measure coat-surface change rather than core body temperature.

Suitical

Instead of soaking the outside, the Suitical DRY vest is filled through a back cap so water evaporates through an internal membrane while the coat-facing surface is intended to remain dry. The chemistry-free reservoir design is unusual and well documented, but it is expensive, can become heavy when filled, requires a harness to be worn over it, and has a small mixed historical review signal.

CoolerDog

CoolerDog places plain-water FlexiFreeze sheets under the belly and around the neck instead of relying on evaporation. That makes the mechanism less humidity-sensitive and the direct price is modest, but frozen inserts add bulk, require freezer logistics, provide finite cooling, and have no strong public review signal.
