Sleepypod

The Sleepypod Mobile Pet Bed combines a familiar bed, zip-up carrier, and seat-belt-routed vehicle restraint for pets up to 15 lb. Its current Center for Pet Safety certification gives it the strongest independent crash-safety evidence in this comparison, but that certification applies only to this exact model, weight range, fit, and prescribed belt path.

Tavo

Maeve pairs a rigid pet carrier with compatible bases that use lower anchors and, on applicable configurations, a stability leg. Tavo publishes dynamic front- and side-impact testing benchmarked against UN ECE R129, which is useful manufacturer evidence, but this research did not verify R129 certification or current CPS certification; capacity and vehicle fit also depend on the exact carrier-and-base combination.

PupSaver

The Original PupSaver is a rear-facing open seat for dogs from 1 to 30 lb, using five clips and lower-anchor J-hooks. PupSaver publishes 35 mph testing performed at MGA Research with a canine variation of FMVSS 213, but that evidence remains manufacturer-supervised and should not be described as CPS or independent certification.

K&H Pet Products

K&H's Bucket Booster uses the vehicle belt beneath its cushion, raises the dog about 5.5 inches, and includes two interior tethers for harness attachment. It offers a more supported, padded perch than a hanging booster, but K&H publishes no pet weight limit on the current page and this research found no current crash certification for the seat.

Kurgo

The Rover is a collapsible bucket-seat booster for dogs up to 30 lb, supported by metal struts and supplied with an integrated tether. Its explicit limit, compact format, and exact official video make it easier to evaluate than boosters with vague sizing, but Kurgo does not present the booster itself as crash-tested and recommends pairing the tether with an appropriate harness.

K&H Pet Products

Buckle n' Go creates an open, mesh-sided area on the rear bench using headrest straps and a lead that clips into a vehicle belt receptacle. Airflow and open space are useful for dogs that dislike deep boosters, but buckle compatibility varies by vehicle and neither the absence of a weight limit nor the enclosure itself establishes crash protection.

Snoozer

The Lookout I is a soft foam booster offered in configurations for dogs up to 18 or 25 lb. A vehicle belt secures the seat, a connector attaches to the dog's fitted harness, and the removable cover is washable; it is comfortable and raises the dog's view, but no current independent crash certification was verified.

Kurgo

The Skybox Rear Seat Booster is built for a rear bench rather than a front bucket seat, with vehicle-belt integration, a collapsible frame, an integrated tether, and a 30 lb maker limit. That geometry is useful when front-seat mounting is inappropriate, but the booster is not a crash-tested restraint and must not be confused with Kurgo's different front-seat Skybox model.

PetSafe

PetSafe's Happy Ride Booster uses headrest and lower-seat straps plus seat-belt loops, then connects its safety tether to a fitted harness. It folds flat and has a washable fleece liner at a comparatively low listed price, but the official page conflicts on the middle size's weight limit and contained stale delivery copy, so the exact current SKU must be rechecked.

PetSafe

PetSafe's Extra Long ramp extends from 47 to 87 inches while providing a 20-inch-wide path, helping reduce the entry angle at taller cargo floors. At 18 lb it is relatively manageable for its size, and PetSafe says it is independently tested and rated to 300 lb; that remains a manufacturer-published test statement, so owners still need to measure slope, inspect the locks, and secure stable contact points.

PetStep

PetStep's 70 x 17-inch ramp uses fiberglass-reinforced composite and a rubberized walking surface that is designed to maintain grip without a sandpaper texture. It folds to about 37 inches, carries a five-year warranty, and the maker lists a 500 lb animal-use capacity, but it weighs about 18.5 lb and that capacity must never be applied to human use.
